Casual commentary about political, cultural and economic issues with a particular interest on the city of Winnipeg by John Dobbin
When I first heard the name, I thought the Pirate Party was some sort of joke akin to the Rhino Party. However, the platform that they are running on puts them well ahead of the curve in relation to the mainstream parties. It would be great to see a little more public debate on issues like copyright, privacy, net neutrality which are becoming increasingly relevant. In other words, it would be ideal if Canada's position on those issues was deliberate and thoughtful instead of being made by default, based on whoever has the best lobbyists.
I will look more closely at their platform.I am a bit concerned that some people don't want any copyright at all.
