Seasons of Tuxedo - Store Preview IHOP Coming to Wininpeg
One again corporate types of Seasons of Tuxedo have let the cat out of the bag prematurely about future stores and restaurants coming to the location. In a promotional video, they quickly scan across the plans for first phase of the site.
What appears on the site aside from the IKEA and Cabela's and unnamed home improvement stote (aka Lowe's) is Winnipeg's first International House of Pancakes IHOP. The site also includes a Montana's Cookhouse, Subway, Pita Pit and Dairy Queen, Harvey's, Booster Juice, Thai Express and Nutrition House.
There is also a National Bank of Canada and a Assiniboine Credit Union.
Curiously, there is an animal hospital listed.
As stated earlier on this site, a Mr. Lube is at the back of the development but there also appears to be a Shell station.
There also appears to be a Dollarama and Manitoba's first location of home store Bouclair.
There is a 46,000 foot grocery store with no name. Safeway?
Well, there you have it. More to come soon.
Notation: I have been told by IHOP that there is no plans to locate at Seasons of Tuxedo at the present time.
It is a bit bewildering as it seems clear that most of the other tenants are indeed coming.
The grocery store looks too small to be a relocate Superstore and it doesn't seem to make sense for it to Sobeys or Safeway which has prime locations further south on Kenaston. My guess would be this is going to be an Asian grocery like Lucky's or T&T which at one time was confirmed for Polo Festival before being cancelled.
ReplyDeleteSeasons of tuxedo is suppose to be a new development. One thing I don't get Is why is there a Rogers, booster juice, shell, subway opening when there 2 minutes away around kenaston common. I can't get my head around this. There should be new retailers. Much better for consumers and developers.
ReplyDeletePs love your blog
Anon 1's reasoning makes sense. Sobeys and Safeway are already close by and it's too small for Superstore. Also doubtful that an indie would set up there. That leaves an Asian grocer which is where I'd put my money.
ReplyDeleteActually ,it's surprising Superstore isn't in on this development. The Grant and Kenaston store is so small that it's more like an Extra Foods than anything else. They could make a bundle by redeveloping that land and moving to a new store a few blocks south.
Anon 1: You could be right. An Asian food grocery might look for something that size.
ReplyDeleteAnon 2: Well, since IHOP is denying they are moving to Seasons of Tuxedo, I wonder how accurate the map is now. One thing is clear: I can see *other* buildings being built now and they certainly look like the buildings on the map.
Anon 3: Superstore is still holding a candle up for moving directly across the street to Kapyong Barracks in the next three years.
Grant & Kenaston Superstore is small? WTF?
ReplyDelete"Grant & Kenaston Superstore is small? WTF?"
ReplyDeleteIt is tiny compared to other Superstores. Like maybe half the square footage of the typical location. That's why the product offerings there are much more limited compared to other Superstores.
I wonder if there will be any high end shopping retailers in seasons of tuxedo.
ReplyDeleteIs there any news on if Buffalo Wild Wings will be opening in Seasons of Tuxedo? I'm really looking forward to that.
ReplyDeleteSomeone told me that Petsmart plans on opening a store in the Kenaston area. Hope they open in Seasons of Tuxedo
ReplyDeleteIs that InDecor I'm reading? I remember them on St. Mary's rd. Is this a new location?
