It certainly makes sense that a bike bath should run down it but you'd be shocked at the level of opposition that has run counter to that.

I can well imagine if Burlington abandoned the line, people would be more upset about condos going there. This is exactly what happened to those people on the CN line.John Dobbinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16469872007840292315noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5854734498362657333.post-29741426647464760062010-09-21T15:29:18.414-05:002010-09-21T15:29:18.414-05:00Further to the bike path along the BN line, I beli...Further to the bike path along the BN line, I believe the City still owns a strip of land along the east side of the track running from Taylor to Wellington. Until a few years ago there were still tentative plans to develop the path, but it suddenly disappeared in this round of bike path construction.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02366676326702817609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5854734498362657333.post-25013904709214897662010-09-21T12:06:06.014-05:002010-09-21T12:06:06.014-05:00The biggest blunder I've ever seen. Considering I spoke about the issue in the last elecetion, y years ago, its amazing no one has lost their job over this boondoggle.

If I get into council, that is my one of my most important priorities, talk to the Rail companies and get Planning on top of this.I know it flies under most people's radar but this network forms our Rapid Transit of the future. Really, how can anyone talk about pplanning a City of the future and completely ignore these steel rivers that bisect our City.

And don't even get me started on the 240 Acres of land called the Weston yards, which would provide a direct link from the Airport through BioMed City to the Core and onwards to St. Norbert. I'm not sure people can handle a Vision and project of this magnitude

LivioAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
